Ways to cook whitingWhiting with sauce
Ingredients 2 whiting
filletted,salt,pepper,plainflour,4 oz butter or 100 grammes,2 tablespoons lemon
juice,lemon slices,beetroot slices,large pinch chopped parsley.
Preparation Dry the filletts and coat well
with salt,pepper and flour.After melting the butter fry the filletts on both
sides for 10 minutes.Remove from pan and keep them hot. Put the lemon slices
around a large serving dish and place the fish in the centre.Cut the beetroot
into diamond slices and place between the lemon slices. Lightly brown the
remaining butter in the pan,add the lemon juice and parsley stir it together
well and pour over the fish.Eat whilst still piping hot
Thai Fish cakes
Ingredients 300g (10 1/2oz)
whiting filletts,100g (3 1/2 oz) frozen cooked prawns(thawed),1 tablespoon red
or green curry paste,zest of a small lemon,small bunch fresh coriander, 100g
green beans chopped into fine rings (thawed if frozen) ,teaspoon salt.
Preparation Put fish,prawns,curry
paste,lemon and coriander into a food processor to a fine paste, then add beans
and salt and pulse to mix in. Put into a clean bowl cover in clingfilm and
refrigerate for about an hour.Oil your hands to stop fish sticking to them and
taking a tablespoon at a time form into patties.Fry the patties a few at a time
for 5 minutes each side.Lift out with a fish slice and keep warm while remaining
patties are cooked .Serve with whatever you want ie chips,salad, rice
etc.
Tasty easy cheesy whiting
Grill some whiting filletts 2
or 3 minutes each side.Place whiting filletts skin side down and cover with a
equal measure of grated cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs mixed together.(You can
use your own favorite cheese doesn't have to be cheddar).Place back under grill
for abour a minute and you should have a tasty crunchy meal. Can be used for a
snack or main meal.
